Northern Portugal Cultural Centre

About us

Founded in 1983 by Portuguese immigrants who wanted to celebrate their Minhoto roots the Northern Portugal Cultural Centre has grown into one of the most respected, community-minded clubs in Ontario. Although our Centre’s name traditions and Rancho (folk dance group) are rooted in the northern province of Minho we are by no means an exclusive “northern” club. Today our members (and our committee) represent all corners of continental Portugal, Acores and Madeira. We hold various fundraisers throughout the year to help local causes – specifically the R.S. McLaughlin Durham Regional Cancer Centre, Movember drive and our yearly Simcoe Hall Toy Drive.
Some of our festas include New Year’s Eve, Easter, Oshawa’s Fiesta Week (which runs for one week starting on Father’s Day) and Festa do Sarrabulho (Thanksgiving weekend). Everyone is welcome to join us for any of our events – please go to the events page for complete listings of our upcoming events or visit our website.
