Peniche Community Club of Toronto Logo

Established in March 1981, the Peniche Community Club of Toronto is one of the most resilient and enduring pillars of the Portuguese-Canadian community. Founded by a dedicated group of immigrants from the Peniche region of Portugal, the club was born out of a shared passion for sports and a desire to foster a sense of belonging for newcomers in Ontario. For over four decades, our club has been synonymous with excellence in soccer. From our early days as champions of the Luso-Canadian League to our current standing in the Ontario Soccer League, Peniche CC has remained a constant force on the pitch. We are proud to be recognized as one of the longest-standing clubs in the history of Toronto’s Portuguese community, consistently promoting the values of teamwork, perseverance, and athletic integrity. While sports are our foundation, our mission extends far beyond the field. Located in the heart of Toronto at 1264 College Street, Peniche Community Club serves as a vibrant social and cultural hub. Over the years, we have hosted everything from folklore dance groups and beauty pageants to international tours and community festivals. We take great pride in our role as a bridge between generations, ensuring that the unique traditions of Peniche and the broader Portuguese heritage continue to thrive within the Canadian mosaic. Today, Peniche Community Club remains a welcoming home for all who value community spirit, cultural preservation, and the beautiful game.
