Portuguese Cultural Club of Vaughan Logo

For a long time, the Portuguese residents of the “City Above Toronto”—the beautiful City of Vaughan—shared a common dream: to have a Portuguese club to call their own. That dream began to take shape on a Friday evening over coffee and conversation among a group of friends: Milene, Teresa Paula, Valter, Fernando, Ana, and Tony. What started as a simple idea quickly gained momentum, and just weeks later, on March 28, 2011, the Portuguese Cultural Club of Vaughan (PCCV) was officially born. With its founding, Vaughan proudly welcomed its very first Portuguese community organization. Today, the PCCV is a thriving institution with a large and ever-growing membership. Central to our mission of cultural preservation are our two folklore dance groups: Os Antigos and As Estrelas. Comprising mostly local residents, these groups serve as the heartbeat of our club, showcasing the vibrant traditions of our heritage through music and dance. We are always looking for new talent to join our ranks; if you are a resident of Vaughan and would like to become a dancer in one of our ranchos, we invite you to reach out to our director, Valter Ferreira. Our vision for the future is ambitious. We aim to create a permanent home within the community—a place where our children can learn the Portuguese language and embrace their roots, and where our parents can gather for social connection and enjoyment. We invite all Portuguese residents of Vaughan to support the PCCV and join us in this journey. By getting involved, you help us expand our reach and ensure that the Portuguese culture continues to flourish in our city for generations to come.
